The Jesus We Knew Was There

Just as we knew he could not have looked like the plantation owner. Or the lynch mob or the “big boss” in any form.  Just as we knew he’d know how to dance. I am so grateful to the Ethiopian monks and their mamas – so easy, these teachers, to overlook – for knowing what is essential to preserve. ~aw
