Traoré DECLARES WAR on Dirt! 70,000 Burkinabè Clean the Country in Just 4 Days

Our son and brother is not declaring war on dirt.  Dirt is precious.  But on the insult to dirt, which is filth.  Many miracles are happening in Africa, not the least in Burkina Faso, where Thomas  Sankara also taught that in the end nothing is more extraordinary than what we can accomplish ourselves.

I can’t resist recommending the John Lennon song “Clean Up Time” to remind us of the one world we inhabit. And that cleaning up, in all its variations, can happen, and must happen, wherever we are.  What nourishes us, like our precious Earth that is made of dirt, stays.  What distorts and dishonors us, filth, goes.

Happy New Year. 2026!  May it be, universally, the year of determined clean up. The alternative is a dishonor so severe humanity as we have known it will not survive.~aw
