Cultivating Resistance To An Invasion From Our Past

As an American Southerner of color, it is truly horrifying to imagine these white South Africans coming to resettle in America.  Or would be, if I did not understand there is, apparently, a part of the white American psyche, and the white South African one, that revels in endless conflict between and among the so-called races.  As if there are more than one.  The illusion of white supremacy among people who fear the sun and do not absorb it easily, is breathtaking.

Greed is the root of most selfishness; no matter what laws are enacted to camouflage this fact.

I repost this video to help us recall the history of this issue.  My love of black South African resistance fighters and their white allies to this moment brings tears to my eyes.  So much love they had for humanity! So much belief that it should be precious and protected by and for all.

I imagine these white South Africans settling, perhaps, in Georgia, where I was born and raised, and where my parents and grandparents and great grandparents slaved for centuries with no respect, no formal education (learning to read was against the law) and no freedom; and, of course, no land of their own.  And I urge all my Georgia kin, whether racial or spiritual, to ready yourselves for an invasion from your own past.  Study, learn, cultivate readiness not to return to what we have, with so much suffering, largely outgrown.

I love us for our efforts.  Apparently, endless.

Como estadounidense sureña de color, me resulta verdaderamente horrible imaginar a estos sudafricanos blancos viniendo a reinstalarse en los Estados Unidos. O lo sería, si yo no entendiera que, al parecer, hay una parte de la psiquis blanca estadounidense, y de la blanca sudafricana, que se deleita con el interminable conflicto entre las llamadas razas. Como si hubiera más de una. La ilusión de supremacía blanca entre la gente que teme al sol y no lo asimila es asombrosa.

La codicia es la raíz de la mayoría del egoísmo, independientemente de las leyes que se promulguen para camuflar este hecho.

Repongo este video para ayudarnos a recordar la historia de este asunto. Mi amor por los luchadores negros de la resistencia sudafricana y sus aliados blancos hasta hoy me mueve a las lágrimas. ¡Tenían tanto amor por la humanidad! ¡Tanta convicción de que debe ser valiosa y protegida por y para todos!

Me imagino a estos sudafricanos blancos asentándose, quizás, en Georgia, donde nací y me crie y donde mis padres, abuelos y bisabuelos trabajaron esclavizados por siglos sin respeto, sin educación formal (aprender a leer iba contra la ley) y sin libertad; y, por supuesto, sin tierra propia. Exhorto a todos mis compatriotas georgianos, ya sean raciales o espirituales, a prepararse para una invasión de su propio pasado. Estudien, aprendan, cultiven la disposición a no volver a lo que, con tanto sufrimiento, hemos superado en gran medida.

Los amo por nuestros esfuerzos. Aparentemente, interminables. ~aw
