A Thoughtful Teaching About the Tik Tok Ban… and more

I was surprised by how much I liked Tik Tok.  It appeared out of nowhere on my computer and that was scary and offensive so I let it go.  But then, I missed it. So I got it back and now it is about to be banned. I appreciate very much our ability, via Tik Tok, to share common struggles as humans (and other animals) on the planet; I was especially grateful, as so many of us were, to have a way of observing, and fighting for, our people in Gaza, as well as in other lands. Most of us are aware that we are lied to constantly about all manner of things.  This teacher’s insights and observations never fail to nourish my inner skeptic. ~aw

I am concerned that Americans are falling behind in writing, reading, and what used to be called arithmetic. I don’t see much of a future for those who can neither express themselves verbally nor interpret the written signals from humanity demonstrated in the ability to read. How will anyone in the future, our future, understand how the world fits together? How our troubled present comes directly from a recognizable past?

The echo from the future, that comes with sufficient time spent in silence, always rises to reassure me:  Someone will know.

As in: Don’t despair, yet.

So much is put together brilliantly by this teacher, Shahid Bolsen; with the required if sometimes caustic humor in which hard truths are frequently, often inevitably, cloaked.

His observations are like a light breaking: a person of many lineages, and obviously much study (perhaps while in prison) he points to the oldest ground of all, reality, on which to stand.

I have not yet viewed the Jordan Peterson interview referenced, but will do so. ~aw
