I’ve put off writing about Queen Charlotte, which must be a new iteration of Bridgerton,with which I have not kept up, because like much great art I have loved, it leaves me speechless.  But then I mused, in meditation, how lucky we are to have  art that does this to us!  

In any case, Queen Charlotte does that thing great art does: it surprises you. Constantly.  It also doesn’t care one bit about your prejudices and your thoughts that such and such could not/should not be done!  

What a joy it is to see young queen Charlotte and young king George in all their determined coming to terms with the wicked demands of the British Empire when all they’d really like to do is get him well, attend to the stars and learn progressive ways to farm; also do more dancing, and spend most days in bed.

Cheers to everyone but especially to the beyond delightful India Ria Amarteifio, and the sweetest pea Corey Mylchreest, and the gay retainers/support system so often overlooked and who are frequently, as these two in Queen Charlotte are, completely adorable!

He pospuesto escribir sobre La Reina Charlotte, que debe ser una nueva repetición de Los Bridgerton, con la cual no he estado al tanto, porque como con mucho gran arte que he amado, esta me deja sin palabras. Pero entonces reflexioné, en meditación, ¡cuán afortunados somos por tener arte que hace esto con nosotros!

En cualquier caso, La Reina Charlotte logra esa gran cosa que el gran arte hace: te sorprende. Constantemente. ¡También no le preocupa en lo más mínimo tus prejuicios y tus pensamientos de que tal cosa y la otra no podrían/no deberían hacerse!

Constituye una alegría ver a la joven reina Charlotte y al joven rey George en toda su determinación de aceptar las aviesas demandas del Imperio Británico cuando todo lo que realmente les gustaría hacer es estar bien, ocuparse de las estrellas y aprender maneras modernas de cultivar la tierra; también bailar más, y pasar la mayoría de los días en cama.
Aplausos a todos pero especialmente a la más que encantadora India Ria Amarteifio, y al más dulce guisante Corey Mylchreest, y al sistema de apoyo y sirvientes homosexuales tan a menudo pasado por alto y los que con frecuencia, como estos dos en La Reina Charlotte, ¡son absolutamente adorables!
