Beloved bell, though distant we are not apart.  We belong to the same tribe that questions everything.  That changes everything, with words, or as much of everything as we can.

Thank you for loving my daughter, Rebecca, your student in so many ways and areas of life. You represented something precious our people lost to integration in the South: the teacher’s face, just like her own, beaming its love of her. It’s deep desire, its passion, that she do well! Not just in class, but in the huge university of Life.

May your journey be one of wonder through all realms of as yet unknown Creation.  We live continuously, as you, I am sure, intuited; also unstoppable (apparently) is the mystery of our journey.

If there is a St. Peter guarding a gate you must pass through, I chuckle thinking how deeply he is in for it.~aw

Bell querida, aunque distante no estamos separadas. Pertenecemos a la misma tribu que cuestiona todo. Que cambia todo, con palabras, o tanto como podemos.

Gracias por amar a mi hija, Rebecca, tu alumna en tantas maneras y áreas de la vida. Tú representaste algo valioso que nuestra gente perdió con la integración del Sur: el rostro delmaestro, justo como el suyo propio, transmitiendo su amor por ella. ¡Su deseo profundo, su pasión, de que ella lo hiciera bien! No solo en el aula, sino en la enorme universidad de la Vida.

Que tu viaje sea uno de asombro por todos los reinos de la Creación hasta ahora desconocidos. Vivimos continuamente, como tú, estoy segura, en intuición; también indetenible (al parecer) es el misterio de nuestro viaje. Si hay un San Pedro que cuida una puerta por la que debes pasar, me río pensando lo mucho que tendrá que discutir. ~aw
